Dr. Vincenzo Gambino studied medicine at the University of Pavia in Italy. In 1990, he began specializing in hair transplantation with the Elliott-Thomas Medical Group in New York City. A member of multiple internationally accredited medical organizations, Dr. Gambino is the immediate past president of The Italian Society for Hair Restoration Surgery. Dr. Gambino wrote the hair transplantation section of a new surgical text book, Medicina e Chirurgia Estetica del Viso e del Collo (Esthetic Medicine and Surgery of the Face and Neck), produced by S.I.E.S. (Italian Society of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery) and published by Elsevier Masson. He was the first doctor in Italy to perform head-to-pubic-area transplantation, and he most recently pioneered chest-to-head-hair transplantation in Italy. He is also the first in Italy to use Low Level Laser Therapy in the treatment of hair loss.
